Ryu Hwayoung 류화영 born April 22, 1993, better known as simply Hwayoung, is a South Korean idol singer and a member of girl group T-ara. Hwayoung was born on 22 April 1993 in Gwangju, South Korea. Her twin sister is fellow label-mate, Ryu Hyoyoung, who is a member of Coed School and 5dolls, with a minute's difference between them. Hwayoung is the younger of the two. Hwayoung was added into T-ara in July 2010 as their seventh member. She was scouted after she and her sister made an appearance on SBS's variety show Star King. Both of them were then recruited into Core Contents Media, debuting in T-ara and Coed School respectively.
